The Color Bar Challenge
As a personal project, I joined the Print Design Academy on their Color Bar Challenge. We were tasked to create a brochure for a bar tailored to creatives. We were given a brief and copy.
Goal:
Create a brochure for The Color Bar, a bar that is currently being built and planning to open. The brochure should showcase the quirky and unique personality of the bar, but also show how it caters to designers and creatives through clever menu items, unique cocktails, feature nights, events, and whatever else you can think of.
I envisioned a bar where creatives could turn their brain off after a full day of staring at screens. An atmosphere with dim lighting, plants and wood accents to bring them back to earth. We often become overstimulated and overwhelmed by our everyday tasks, so why not retire to a place that eases the senses?
I combined deep greens, yellow and plants to reflect the bar’s decor with an accordion-style brochure. It can be easily unfolded from a square with the bar’s background and events on one side and the drink menu on the other. I decided to keep the given copy because of the fun yet painful jokes.
